One of the principle difference between U.S GAAP and Canadian GAAP in 1997 was that on U.S. GAAP the cost of the debentures was all put into 1997, which they will be spread over 10 years in Canadian GAAP. That means that in 1998 there is a potential that U.S. GAAP would be higher than Canadian GAAP since Canadian GAAP will still incur a charge.

Hard to tell who has been on the sidelines thinking that DBCO was too much for Eco given DBCO's negative cash flow and debt. It could indeed be volitile tomorrow, but I hope those trades after the close provide some indication.
