MU investment strategy: Lessons Learned from disk-drive makers.
Back in August 1997 many of us admired WDC and other storage media companies (Segate, Quantum, I-Omega, etc.). The first sign of concern was over inventory levels and pricing pressures; Isn't that what we are now hearing -and have been for a long time- from MU. Can anyone tell me what makes MU different?
I remember the easing of concern at some point after it was stated that the problem was overstated. But then after a short lived recovery, WDC plunged from the mid-50s to the mid-10s!
The timing looks similar, the peak was during the August-September 97 peak, which is comparable to the current peak for DOW.
With no recovery even being mentioned, shouldn't this stock trade at 20?
