A little DHI news,it gives some insight of the quality of the company, and my thanks to the original poster--------------------------

Positive Info from a
DHI stockholder and fsmasek Mar 25 1998
homebuyer 1:45PM EST

Hello all,

The more you know about DHI the more positive the outlook. I
bought DHI in early September 1997 based purely on financial
data. One day I decided to examine several DHI projects in
the Orange County (South of LA) area to see what they are
building. We
were also looking for a new home at the time, and DHI is
obviously building some excellent homes. We bought (it is not
yet
finished)in one of their projects called Grand
Traditions(realistic finished prices $340,000 - $450,000).
They are building unusually
large phases (25 houses), and have an innovation which is new
to CA - finished attics in the 4 largest of the 5 models !
The
weather (and a need for better project management) have
slowed them down, but they will close on a large batch of
home in Phase II
at the end of April/early May, and are moving VERY rapidly on
Phase III. The upshot - they will close a large number of
deals
in the 2nd quarter. I do not know about the rest of the
country, but this large number of new home sales which
started about
6-9 months ago closely tracks what is happening in the
economy.
