From one Catholic guy's website at web1.tusco.net, it is stated that the Third Prophecy of Our Lady of Fatima was that the Soviet Union was meant to be the scourge of the world. Before this prophecy was revealed, all Catholics were told to pray and to say the Rosary to be liberated from the evils and ravages of Communism worldwide. For some reason(s) I don't understand, the prophecy was only revealed a few years prior to the disintegration of the Soviet Union. (Why it was held up, I don't know. There are anti-Catholics who believe the reason the Third Prophecy was not revealed was that it predicted the end of Papal succession and hence the end of the Church). To be sure, with the disintegration of the Soviet Union, the faithful believe that the Prophecy has been fulfilled.
