Your point regarding brokers on CNBC is excellent. Many brokerages today require the agents themselves to pay for the license in other states than where their local office is located. This has cut down on the brokers being licensed in all 50 states.

The NASD is aware of the interviews, the publicity generated by the interview for both the broker and the company, and allow it. CNBC gives the appearance of greater credibility than ones posts on Silicon Investor. Does anyone know more about their position regarding brokers advertising on TV via giving their opinions so readily to much larger audiences?

s martin,

Are their messages unique and personal to each of us watching?

Do they have the approval of their company's compliance department to make certain statements?

Your continuance of "making light" of the subject and your reluctance to address it as the very serious matter that it is only leads me to believe in the veracity of my information.
