Joan,

Welcome aboard! Unfortunately, Mr. Hananel's name does not ring a bell. Perhaps he is the new Medical Products Segment Manager that Stephan mentioned back at post #915?

It would indeed be very interesting to attend the 2nd International Congress on Computers and Robotics in the Operating Room. Perhaps by attending one could learn more about the specifics of the company's next wave of VRD application as it relates to the medical field. Wonder if this open to the public or are certain credentials needed? Are you involved in the medical field?

Jan

Hi, Joan,

Yes, by all means welcome. I found the following link to the upcoming Congress you mentioned:

computermotion.com

The link describes David Hananel's contribution as one of explaining how "Medicie meets Virtual Reality". I'm not sure this means "virtual reality display" necessarily. Do you have any further information on his topic? I copied the text from the online brochure below:

Clinical Education in the Digital Classroom
The expansion and evolution of surgical education processes will be discussed in relationship to advances in technology and digital capabilities.
Moderator - Thomas Krummel, MD
Speakers
Randy Haluck, MD - Teaching Surgeons to Operate
David Hananel - Medicine Meets Virtual Reality
Gregory Meril - Bringing the Visible Human Back to Life
Richard Reznick, MD - Testing Technical Skill
Debra Da Rosa, Ph.D. - Medium Should Not Be the Message

On a related front I was looking through CNN yesterday and it had a story on the Military's exploration of remote surgery. You might find it interesting:

Since Microvision is actively pursuing applications in the medical area, I hope you will continue to keep us updated on developments that you uncover.

Stephan
