markets, announces the release of the EtherFast 10/100BaseTX
Auto-Sensing Hubs.
As the newest addition to the Instant EtherFast Series of Fast
Ethernet solutions, the auto-sensing hubs are the first in the
industry to offer per-port prices as low as $27. EtherFast hubs offer
a smooth, cost-effective migration solution from 10Mbps to 100Mbps
networks by supporting 10/100BaseTX, auto-sensing, dual speed on each
port. The EtherFast 10/100BaseTX Auto-Sensing Hubs are currently
available through Linksys authorized retail, direct mail, and
distribution partners throughout North America.
The EtherFast Auto-Sensing line offers the widest variety of port
selection options for small/medium businesses and corporate
workgroups, while featuring the lowest per port cost in the industry.
The hubs also allow greater flexibility for growing networks,
permitting users to place both 10BaseT and 100BaseTX devices on the
same hub without the need for additional hardware.
This offers users smooth, effortless installation and expansion,
while ensuring the highest network performance possible. Built-in
switching technology handles the smooth communication between both 10
and 100Mbps, segmenting network traffic according to speed. The
EtherFast auto-sensing hubs offer the easiest, most cost-effective way
for users to migrate to Fast Ethernet.
The EtherFast Auto-Sensing line offers both 8 & 16-port desktop
models, in addition to 16 & 24-port rackmount versions that support
optional single or dual-port 100Base-FX module plug-ins for connection
to corporate fiber optic backbones. Supporting all major network
operating systems and IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u Class II compliance, the
hubs come with a full suite of network and data protection features
that guarantee strong signals, flawless communication between
segments, and protection from downed network lines.
LEDs displayed on the front panel allow users to view network
status including Power, Collision, Link/Activity, and Speed Per Port.
All EtherFast Auto-Sensing Hubs are easily up-linked to other 10Mbps
or 100Mpbs hubs, switches, routers or print servers by utilizing the
provided up-link port.
