Paul, I have just learned that TADs are widely used in their Air Conditioner business. They actually have a knob on the controls labelled TAD, which stands for Temperature Adjustment Device (TAD). There have been unconfirmed rumors that Rice was overheard directing Mr. Stonkus on TADs, "Stinky, turn that air conditioner down a TAD!" On another more cordial occasion he was thought to have said, "Mitch, I find it hot in here. Would you please turn the air conditioner up a TAD or two?" Don
