Faroudja, Inc. Presents New Line of Digital Format Translators For Broadcasters; Digital Format Translators Provide DTV Solutions

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 27, 1998--Faroudja, Inc. FDJA today announced the launch of the most recent
additions to its
Video Solutions(tm) product line for professional broadcasters, the Faroudja Digital Format Translators(tm).

The line of Digital Format Translators provides a range of modular solutions for broadcasters, cable and satellite services seeking to
deliver a
variety of Digital Television (DTV) and High-Definition Television (HDTV) video formats to meet the new HDTV/DTV standards.

Mike Moone, President of Faroudja, commented: "There are eighteen different video formats for digital television, which will begin its
roll-out in
major cities this fall, in accordance with the FCC mandate. As a company that has focused solely on the enhancement of video images
and
superior video processing for twenty-seven years, Faroudja decided to utilize its technology platform to create easy solutions for

whatever their choice of digital format turns out to be."

Many of Faroudja's technologies, covered by more than 50 patents, are incorporated into the Video Solutions Digital Format
Translator line,
including Faroudja's broadcast decoder, noise reducer, de-interlacer, scaler and video enhancer.

Faroudja's entire product line will be demonstrated at the Faroudja Labs booth, #M5838, Sands Expo, at the National Association of
Broadcasters (NAB) convention in Las Vegas, April 6-9.
