The bummer is that my sons (2) cars are taking priority over getting the Cobra back together. I cracked a cylinder on track and have had the engine apart while I sit and watch ASND way too much or repair and upgrade their machines.

Jan, the carburetor and intake manifold are where the gas and air get mixed to go into the engine. It also involves the water cooling system. So the opportunity for error or problems without testing is strong because the number of systems involved. I also had not adjusted the carburetor yet. Ran pretty good though. Round trip of just under 10 miles. It's a 1968 Mustang with a new 4 barrel Holley and an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold on a 289 with an automatic. The automatic has been upgraded, and the 289 is mildly worked, cam, heads, full length headers... My son reports that this car blows off big block cars.

I advise that racing be limited to the track where it can be done with reasonable safety. Club events like NorCal Shelby norcal-saac.org, of which I am Treasurer, provide outlets for said activities.

Let's be careful out there, and yes it is time to get the Cobra back up!!!
