Jim,

In the past, I've made a good deal of profit playing these
options strategies (much more than I've ever made on the stock
itself). When purchasing options, my goal is to get them for
5/8 or less. Now this time around, Atmel's downside risk is much
less than it has been in the past (for the simple reason that it
is trading very close to it's 52-week low and it's book value of
just over $9/share). Therefore, the percentages point to an
increase in the stock price if earnings are met. I haven't
formulated my exact strategy yet, but will do so after I know the
exact earnings release date.

P.S. I am also toying with the idea of selling covered April 15 CALLs
and buying the April 17.5 CALL as protection agains a pop.
