Dear Sir TEMP: Under The present Telcom Regulation Act "All parties have equal access"But since this is a very serious statement made by me I would encourage all involved in FTEL to read and fully understand to the best of their ability the provisions set forth in said ACT.
This is actually a great part of Deregulation.

Stephen,

I don't know if WCOM will want to have their customers use the tempest or not.

However...

1. As far as has been stated so far by Helen, or the limited information provided in the news releases, there is no agreement between FTEL and WCOM for what you are suggesting. This is not to say it is impossible, but it is pure speculation at this time.

2. Don't you think the merger of WCOM and MCI may impact any desired involvement with the Tempest "network". It seems to me that providing an alternative means for worldwide telephone service would be in conflict with MCI. I have been trying to understand why a company like MCI would want that competition or how it could fit in with the MCI offerings. I also believe that MCI already has some VOIP alliances defined. If you see how the future FNET is compatible with a merged WCOM/MCI and their source of revenue from their customers , I would appreciate your input.

Thanks

Judith

Temp, Just wondering about the symbiotic outcome of Ftel colocating with WCOM...Is it possible that WCOM sees the potential to increase its customer base (and revenues) by advertising internet telephony, fax as additional features besides mere internet access? Ftel on the other hand maximized its potential to access all of WCOM/UUNET corporate customers, most of the world sites, (instead of having to set up its own network) and a high speed backbone network so important for a nearly lag-free telephony and data transmission(fax). I wonder how many other companies have done what Ftel has done so far.
Any comments..

Long on Ftel..Gunther.
