Brian
I agree. The current quarter results might move stock up or down by a bit but the main driving force is expectation of new upcoming chips and yields.
The pru also mentioned k7 in their recent review after talking to amd. No details yet.

Too many bulls on this thread. AMD has terrible performance history with products that showed great promise. INTC is eating their lunch, margin pressure abounds, and AMD faces stiff competition in sub $1000 PC sector. They can't even manage production of the K6. They have lost money in 4 of last 6 quarters, will obviously lose money this quarter, as they have stated, and barring a miracle, will lose money in the next quarter to make it 6 out of 8 losers. I know, I know, I am not telling anyone anything they don't already know......but the bullish tone for a terrible company like AMD needs some balance. AMD needs to give a big thanks to the current ignorant state of the market for its' stock price.

Brian, yes I love the short interest.
Short sellers who are counting on a bad -(60c) loss to drop the stock may not get the expected results even if AMD did post a loss that large...

Remember, if yield problem was solved around March 1 they may have increased wafer starts tremendously at that point, increasing costs but with no output until K6-3D intro in May.

Still, I think higher production of 0.35's during quarter would moderate the loss.

{off topic} BTW, Brian, I unloaded some of my IDTI at profit today and bought some DELL puts. No boxmaker deserves over 50 PE and Michael Dell's collusion with Microsoft on Capitol Hill had all the makings of a snake oil salesmen convention.
