Rick, Funk & Wagnalls sez: A system of thinking in which man, his interest and development are made central and dominant, tending to exalt the cultural and practical rather than the scientific and speculative. In short, humanism exalts man above all else and makes him the center of the universe. Now this is just as foolish as ancient man who thought that the sun, moon and stars all revolved around the earth (until we got scientific - notice the scientific part in the definition -g-) This is the original sin, when man exalted himself above the creator of the heavens and earth, which created a fallen man, separated from the Father creator. This would be much the same as having a spoiled small rebellious child run away in disobedience to live on the streets. Without the guidance, the nurturing love, the education of the Father and Mother, the child most likely will end up in gangs, drugs, prostitution, whatever. Basically we have a world with hate, war, prejudice, greed etc etc etc, because we failed to listen to our Father God. AND WHAT A MESS IT'S CAUSED. Thanks for the question. bobby
