Ted, nice added commentary. I got a good chuckle, but not as big a chuckle as when I read that Mike Burke guy's post. i'm sorry, but it really makes me laugh when I see some of the self-proclaimed experts start to talk about this industry and wind up making themselves look like idiots. Most of 'em don't know their cantilever jackup from a semi let alone the actual economics of this business. I guess some people will just never understand. When everyone does, it is probably time to sell out. :)

Just to add to your list, British Petroleum announced they would be investing $1 billion in Venezuelan operations in 1998. This includes the Pedernales field at the mouth of the Orinoco and the Guarapiche marginal field.
