philipah, Re: "Why spend 2 billion etc" Why does any company every spend money to buy back it's own stock. Because they have lotsa money on hand, no or little debt, all their ducks lined up for future expenses, competition etc. AND IT SHOWS CONFIDENCE IN YOUR OWN ABILITIES GOING FORWARD! Which is what investors in markets do, go forward in some confidence. We put our money down without having inside knowledge -UNLESS we get indications to the contrary - we take risk GOING FORWARD!
