Fred, Re: "earning reported are always net of acquisition charges"

Oh! Thanks I never got that far.

Re: "the charges for such acquisitions are usually write-offs for "research and development in progress". " Well like I said I didn't get that far but I did notice that stock traded lower because most were figuring 1qt earnings at about 71c and the write-off was 10c I believe?

Re: "Sometimes short term (short term being 6 months to 1 year) market and industry dynamics are simply beyond the control of management." Well I do not think this is out of Intel's control. They can enhance the share holder value (stock price) like IBM does. Maybe just for times like these. When DOJ aggressive, interest rates low, industry is in transition and the party is starting to rock.

Fred it makes me feel like Intel is the parents, all of the other kids are starting off the year with new clothes (their parents not being as wealthy borrowed the money) and Intel is telling us "we going to be short" all with the knowledge there is all that money in the bank!

It just seems like the time to give a little back. The future is not going to hurt Intel UNLESS THERE IS SOMETHING WE DO NOT KNOW THAT THEY DO? Which is scary.
