The product is Zeldox (Ziprasidone) which was submitted in March of 97. FDA generally takes 12 months to review in normal situations, but grants accelerated review to certain products (Viagra) which are reviewed in 6 months. From the April 1997 shareholders report: Last month, Pfizer filed a U.S. New Drug Application for Zeldox, which has demonstrated efficacy against a wide range of psychotic symptoms, including schizophrenia. "We believe the broad effectiveness, ease of use, and excellent toleration of Zeldox will establish it as a highly preferred long-term treatment in this competitive and expanding field," Dr. Niblack said.
