Brian,

Re: "Yes I admit AMD has made some very optimistic statements
in the past ."

Now that is like "the pot calling the kettle black" ... What about some
of your optimistic statements, Brian. Remember the HYPE about the 266mhz and
300mhz notebook K6's ??

Make It So,
Yousef

Brian,

"That however changed [(AMD's optimism)] in the Q3 and Q4 '97 conference calls"

As I recall, although AMD's CC in Q4 was very low-key, in Q3 they were arrogantly optimistic. They realized they cannot do that forever in Q3 and tried a different approach in Q4. Guess what. This low-key profile now continues to convince more bullish investors. I have to hand that to Jerry. He must have a very capable psychology advisor in his staff.

John.
