Nah, I'm not holding my breath. I've lived in California too long, although that Loma Prieta thingy did sort of shake me up for a while.

Lots of folks think that the Hayward doom and gloom is being perpetrated by the geotech types in efforts to secure government grants and other funding, that there isn't any real threat and that the projected loss of life and property is way over what could realistically be expected. To me, the Loma Prieta devastation tends to bear this out. Still, I would worry about our bridges holding up through another big one, and Pill Hill is smack dab on the Hayward fault, I believe, but I could be mistaken.
