Steve --

I went back to TI's website and looked at the listings under "ADSL" and see they've moved all Amati's press and subject matter to their site. This probably means nothing. Though I know the guys at Amati would like them to continue.

Later --

Pat

Re: Where does this leave WSTL, I wonder?

Steve,

Westell in the TI buyout of Amati secured some of Amati's original
Allegro contracts. Looks like TI is out after new business.

I never had any doubts they would, Allegro is the best DSLAM Product
on the market.

When is a good day, time & place for lunch?

For the aggressive investor, now may be the time to consider getting in and riding the ADSL wave.

Steve: A poster on the Westell thread "PiedPiper" made a reference to the 3rd Westell contract:

..Don't buy this baby for a buyout, buy it for BA and BT and the brickwall ...

exchange2000.com

Isn't there a long brickwall in China? HK is now part of China and Westell's partner "Lucent" is already in China.

Westell has the rights to manufacture/sell the Allegro:

.. Under the agreement, Westell will assume the right to manufacture and sell Amati Allegro ADSL system products and all non-DSL Amati product lines, along with the right to fulfill existing customer contracts....

westell.com

Westell and TI are strategic partners. Would strategic partners compete against one another for the same contract? The Allegro functionality will eventually be built into the Westell DSLAM device... until later.
