fyi, nt's power line technology is old news. exciting, but still old news.

and as far as i know, all the demos have been in europe. there's a reason for that. it won't work over american (and canadian?) power lines without the power company making expensive upgrades to the lines. the basic difference is that the us power network has more high-voltage (transport) lines than europe, and the signal won't travel over the junction between high and low voltage. or something like that. the other big minus is that a power line acts like a huge antenna for interference.

Hi James,
I have not seen a demo of the powerline web technology. In North America we are concentrating on 1Meg modem, XNet and Ether_loop which I work on. I think the pop up was due to the $400M order for cellular equipment.
Winston.

HI James,
Just an update, IBD Wednesday March 25, 1998 indicated that Dreyfus S&P 500 Index Fund (Mkt cap $7.2B) had among its new buys 88,000 shares of NT.
