Maurice,

The expensing of R&D vs. capitalizing it on the balance sheet is a question of matching costs to revenues in the proper periods. Hypothetically speaking, if a product has a life of say three years and all of the manufacturer's costs were in say year one, then good account principles say spread the costs of the product over the years that it's sold (it's life). The justification of this is that it's a fairer presentation (to owners, lenders, investors, etc.) of the entire situation, as opposed to showing a monster loss in the first year then big income in the second two years of the product's life. The later presentation would be more like a presentation on a cash basis, which is probably okay if it's properly explained to the reader as such.

If anyone else has an idea on this, be my guest.

Regards,

James

Hi, Maurice...been watching your particular Don Quixote Win95 effort w/great interest! Due to upgrade of a particular streaming quote provider I have in my home office, I had to upgrade ONE computer of my 6 over this weekend, something I was loathe t'do!

Fortunately, there are no WP51 files on that machine, and I dread the day that I must upgrade my laptop. Do I understand correctly: disabling IE makes your conversion/accessibility of your WP files now possible, or only accessible quicker, or what? I'm unclear.

RE: SSAX...watching its early strength, I'll fess up and admit I took quick profits on my holdings at 8 7/16 today. Looking to get back in...I just don't like this mini-downtrend line at ze momento...tis all...still believe in the company, but if I can make a buck while I own it...well, what's stopping me, right?

Glad you're back...

Say, Kurt...what do you think about this bubblegum zone at 8«?
