Any idea why FDC is down today? Is the AT&T announcement considered to
be that big a blow?

This IMO is the most mis-understood and under estimated stock of all in the total e-commerce universe trading in US today. Last year that top spot was held by Intuit.....given up for dead at $22 due to a MS factor.

Why....

One argument is; Online banking has been around for 10 years and it still hasn't taken off. Good Point.

It has been around for 10 years on proprietary dial-up networks, either to the bank direct or via Quicken/Money by ISC.

Well guess what...the internet has changed all that!

Here was the sequence if you wanted to do banking online. Get a modem and dial in....for one purpose.

With the Internet here we are 50 Million...bouncing around page by page looking for something to read, free software, seeking out information, e-mailing our friends and making new ones...in other words it is an entertaining novelty.....but at the same it is becoming a way of life for a bunch of us. Something we all do, and each month more and more of us are doing it.

We didn't take the plunge into this new medium to do online banking......we came in for a number other reasons. But what is going to happen because we are all in here, and you can mark this down and retire on it, WE'RE GONNA ACCEPT AND EMBRACE THIS THING AND ALL THAT IT OFFERS!(those were for you Auggie)

Which includes Online Banking, Bill Presentment, Payment & Shopping.

Of which CheckFree competes in the first 3...don't do 4.

It's like the evolution of the Auto, the first owners got one because they were fun to drive and do things with...it was a novelty.

The estimates in that Altanta Paper were for this to be a 2 to 4 Billion Market for bill presentment...

Let's use the 2 Billion, effect on revenues going forward for Checkfree.

CheckFree gets 10% they Double.

CheckFree gets 20% they Triple.

CheckFree gets 30% they Quad.

CheckFree gets 40% they Quint.

If the market is bigger, the 4 Billion, Double the Double, Triple, Quad or Quint.

Currently they have by my estimates much more than 40%......so they can lose a bunch and still smoke.

As always I'll leave it to Charlie to correct me if I'm wrong.
