Of course if the Nikkei, mainland China and Hong
Kong tank (new fiscal year worries for Japan,
devaluation for China) and if rates start going
up here in the U.S. a correction could be so sharp
that the mood could change.

The question really is how much money is on the
sidelines ready to come in. If the only money
waiting is in CD's held by Gen-Xers like me, that
might not do much to snap things back up much. In
an instant the headlines would all change from
euphoric to depressive. Also, if all of the
boomers decide to reduce their allocation on
the same weekend, that could play hell.

There is probably a core group of 20M boomers
who are rolling in it, and they are just waiting
for a dip to send some more money in. The vast
majority of the lower middle class has no free
cash, and they probably have never been in the
market to any degree anyway.

Ahmed,

" I'm just waiting for the nice crash."

Me too! But I've been waiting a long time. Nothing else to do. If I thought it was overvalued at 6000, there's no way I can buy much of anything at these levels. But Bonnie Bear has some thoughts which look interesting. Check her posts under her profile.
