CD,

I was just talking to my broker and told her about ERGB. She said that there was a possibility that given this scenario, the stock could move up sharply the next few weeks. I took out a long position this morning, but I agree, this stock seems manipulated. Are you long at this point?

Yes Coz, There were a number of sources that confirmed that a lot of the false rumors and attacks on the stock were designed to drive Gerald into dumping his margined stock and depressing the market price long enough to allow the sophisticated speculators to cover. Pretty cynical.

No moves were made to keep the stock price up because no one was willing or able to defend the stock. Also, the Company needs to use its line of credit to pursue future growth opportunities and not to prop up the price of its stock. In addition, manipulating stokc prices can be big trouble.

This whole saga has really hurt the stock and cost some people a lot of money. Expect some fallout on this one. The Company has taken a lot of grief over this and has had a lot of management distractions due to shareholder concerns. Management has not always executed as I would have hoped. It is not easy to run a Company when shareholders and others are shooting at you every day. If the Company does recover earnings in the next year and if the price recovers, the small tag-along shorts that got in more recently could get hurt.
