[SSAX] Rumor Confirmed! System Software says CEO Covey resigns

Tuesday April 7, 8:18 pm Eastern Time

CHICAGO, April 7 (Reuters) -System Software Associates Inc. said Tuesday that the company's chairman and chief executive officer Roger Covey has resigned to pursue other interests.

The company said in a statement that William Stuek, president and chief operating officer, will assume the role of chief executive officer, effective immediately.

The company said the resignation accelerated a transition plan that was to have taken place on October 31, 1998, the end of System Software's fiscal year.

System Software named Stuek president and COO in January. He had previously worked for 30 years with International Business Machines Corp (IBM - news), most recently as general manager of North American operations.

The company provides software, including client/server applications.
