The toolmaker debate goes on...

I sold my stock in the toolmakers last year to bet on service integrators, and I am glad I did.

But I do not think the toolmakers are dead, although the stocks seem to be. There may be turn in the tide. With the shrinking market of programmers, there may be more pressure to do work inhouse. The quesiton is, which toolmakers will benefit if the pendulum swings back? Kat Riles, who I respect, tells me PTUS tools are mediocre.

I am waiting for more news on C-Mill, CYRSF's new toolset for DEC.

Jeff: I agree, an important exercise....particularly to further differentiate tool vendors from one another.
