Crestar Introduces Online Banking Services for Small Business

RICHMOND, Va., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Crestar Bank today announced the introduction of two online banking services designed specifically to meet the financial management needs of small business owners and managers. The new services, Crestar PC Banking For Business and Crestar Internet Inquiry For Business, extend to smaller companies, the level of convenience and service currently provided by online banking services designed for consumers and larger companies.

Crestar PC Banking For Business provides small businesses with online
access to their accounts at Crestar in a secure environment, 24 hours a day, using a private, dial-up network. It includes a number of services designed to assist small business owners and mangers in meeting their financial management responsibilities. These services include:

* Instantaneous Account Verification, the ability to immediately check
balances and confirm deposits and payments;
* Easy Account Reconciliation, automated matching of cleared transactions, reducing the time required for business owners and managers to reconcile their accounts;
* Funds Transfers, a capability that enables small businesses to transfer funds between Crestar business accounts, aiding cash flow management for smaller firms;
* Online Bill Payments, permitting small businesses to pay regular or
occasional bills automatically. Payments are automatically reflected
in the customer's account register; and
* Electronic Communication with Crestar in a secure electronic
environment, around the clock.

Crestar PC Banking For Business works with the most popular brands of
personal and business financial management software including QuickBooks(R), QuickBooks Pro(TM), Quicken(R) or Microsoft(R) Money. The monthly fee is $9.95 and enrollment is required.

Crestar Internet Inquiry For Business is a free service accessible through Crestar's Internet Web site at crestar.com. It enables businesses to check account balances or transactions and to review recent account activity. All information provided by the service is encrypted using the most recent and secure techniques to ensure the security of customer data.
