Paul:I had been wondering how long the AMD board could take the bad publicity before heads roll. Maybe the CFO shuffle is supposed to convince everyone that they're on the ball. I thought the comments were dead on. Intel was my second stock position. The first was Occidental Petroleum, which also made the list. In the early 80s everything looked great on paper. Coming energy shortfall. Super relations with Libya. Good exploration programs. Even some hot new oil recovery from shale oil rock technology. Everything but @#$*&^! profits. Quarter after quarter of excuses. Oil prices up. Oil prices down. Special circumstances. Hostile regulatory environment. Every quarter different excuse and always somebody else's fault. Does this sound at all familiar? Fortunately I got out after a couple of wasted years. But the price I paid was well worth it. I can recognize corporate bull$%#^ a mile away now.

Best regards,
Burt

Slot 2 obsolete??? News. com has an article from Intel cheerleader Michael Slater saying that Intel plans to move to a 200Mhz system bus for its high end Katmai processors in 1999. Well Paul, at least it will be a "superior" design!
