Jon, Claude has kept more than one person from "betting the ranch" and saving their butts in the process. You are very right in your assessment of his knowledge .... heed what he says and sleep a little sounder at night. One important thing to remember .. in this gold market even good news is not likely to move a stock as much as it might otherwise move ... so use that to your advantage to digest PR's. Even if good news does boost the stock - very often it will fall back at least 30-60 % of the run - so be patient (if you need proof of that - justlook at a few charts). As CC has said, a property this size will take years to prove up. Pay attention to things like grade, angle of holes i.e., are they giving you true intercept lengths of the anomaly or something else (often they will release a few known "hot spots" and away the market goes) ... location of holes relative to each other (without a map it is often difficult to tell) ... if they drill 20 holes (completed) and only report on 6-7 ... that tells you something. What is the nature of the mineralization ... refractory (likley difficult to recover) ... oxide (usually very easy to recover) .... high-grade veins, low grade bulk situation .... open pit vs. underground ... depth of gold, stripping ratios ... later, you will want to know something about the metallurgy ... recovery rates/methodologies ... heap leach (cheap) ... carbon in pulp (CIP) .... Knelson Concentrator ... etc. Always keep in mind things like the political climate (look at mess with KRY and PDG) .... financing (mines are not cheap) etc. And remember sample security ... are they keeping logged SECURED cores for analysis, if required. How many cores are being double checked to ensure that whomever is doing the assay work are accurate. If you are interested in a list of books that will help you with the basics - let me know .... BTW - I'm still cutting my teeth - lots on this subject to learn. And last, but not least - remember the old adage - a gold mine is a hole with a liar on top <G> .... BTW that is NOT directed at MINE. Good luck to all, MB
