Hello thread,
I am long CYMI since pre-split days and have purchased the stock 4 times now, taking advantage of price dips. I'm a strong believer in the company's future prospects, so I too sleep well at night.

I have a couple of questions/remarks which stem from reading the following:

"SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 1998--Cymer Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS:CYMI - news), the world's leading supplier of the excimer laser illumination sources essential for deep ultraviolet (DUV) photolithography, today announced that its next-generation argon fluoride (ArF) excimer laser was the DUV illumination source used to achieve the breakthrough 0.08 micron design rules recently reported by the University of Texas at Austin.
[...]"

Does this mean that they used the 15 mJ/pulse models? And does it mean that you need this kind of power to print at 0.08 micron?
I believe Cymer is the only company with DUV lasers this powerful. I would very much appreciate confirmation of this or a correction if I'm wrong.

If the above is true, this could be the golden goose for Cymer and its shareholders, assuming most of its clients would rather buy the best laser in order to stay in the race and not have to worry about having to buy again for many years. And since the profit margin on these babies (sale price + service) will be even greater than currently shipping models, earnings will come in much stronger than expected.
IMHO an accelerating profit margin combined with an improved visibility (thanks to Cymer's technology and better PR) will make the stock rocket.

Walt
