Khris, Re: "I may be over-simplifying your position here, but do you believe that it would be good for the co. to empty its wallet in the here in now, only to have its future partially mortgaged?"

They don't have to mortgage one cent. They have over $10billion. I'm saying take $2billion with a bay back to enhance stock value. That would leave them with between $8-9billion. Are you saying that would break their future?

Re: "Is your philosophy not all that different than encouraging somebody to max out their home equity and take advances against all their credit cards to take advantage of this low-interest, bull market?"

No. It's more like re-financing (which they wouldn't have to do) to lower your mortgage payment and have total cost of your house like most other Americans have been doing in this environment.

Re: " Again, I guess I have a little more faith in a) future investments needs will require such a war chest to be in place, and b) mgmt. has evaluated use of its funds many times over. If they were to conclude another major buyback or a cash distribution would be in the best interest of the co. and its shareholders, they would be doing them now, right? Obviously, this is not currently the case.

You sound like someone who would make a perfect business partner. ie: Hey Khris you know I've always made money for us in the past. But I have to let you know going forward our profits and income are going down. We have billions of dollars in the bank and no debt but I have made the decision to cut you worth. My salary will stay in tact because I know exactly what I'm doing and you know you can trust me on that. As you know I am paranoid and this is how I got us here so trust me going forward you will be rewarded for it. Oh yea by the way I'm going to use some of the savings to crush our competition. Then when the earnings come back you'll be right back on top! Ok buddy!

Re: "It seems to me that you think you are Kirk Kervorian (sp?) and Intel is Chrysler.

That is way out there!

Re: "Would all this complaining be going on if INTC was at 90 or 100? I didn't think so."

If the PE, shares outstanding and EPS were not on parity with co-industries YES!
