Maffei was just on CNBC and seemed to emphasize the cautious aspects of the conference call rather than the earnings surprise. Much of that may have had to do with CNBC's questioning, which was focused on slowing growth.
Re previous pops on good MSFT news: If you remember back to last April when MSFT began its last huge run-up, the company had almost no cautionary statements looking forward and was in fact wildly "exuberant," the only time I can remember MSFT doing that. As I said before, this time appears to be different, at least to me. They're much more detailed and specific in their warning this time.

I agree. I just sold half my position today at 89 5/8. Will revisit later, when this market calms down a little.

Right now, I am getting into cash pretty heavily. This market is out of control.
