Lucent has so much going for it that the true value of the company is mind boggling to me. What the prospects for the future are is simply impossible to figure out if the company keeps churning out these new alliances and internally generated discoveries.

However, as I jokingly said in a prior posting, they may get to be more than the AG ( Janet and crew) can tolerate. Remember, it seems that this government cannot stand success. Way in the back of my mind, I really feel that Lu may cross the line and the AG will step in to spread the wealth to those underachievers that are bound to complain.

Many of the powers in high office are children of mediocrity and in order for them to remain on top, they must shut down those that strive for excellence.

Sorry for wasting your time, but I do feel that this can derail the train.

For anyone who lives in the NJ area, I highly recommend the World of Science Lecture Series held every other Saturday in the winter at Bell Labs in Murray Hill. Been taking my kids to these.

They also have a museum exhibit there, and have the very first transistor on display------invented right there at Bell Labs.
