There are pros and cons to having a senior joint venture with the company. The pros are obvious: money for exploration/drilling, additional expertise, and a quicker exploration schedule. The cons: joint venturing with a senior usually means the senior for the most part takes over the project, the senior may get 1/2 or more of any profits, information to stockholders of the junior of the ongoing project can be hard to get, stockholders of the junior do not realize full appreciation for the mineral find. (Stockholders of Bema and Arizona Star did not perceive the deal with Placer Dome as favorable, did they?)
After talking with the seniors, Gallery apparently decided not to give up a chunk of the company to a senior. They are apparently confident enough in their properties to hire a drilling company to do that work. For that, I have to say is it sounds positive and time will tell if they made the right move. It seems like a good business decision to me.
