Careful! The two technologies are not equivalent critters. FED technology will not replace LCDs in most hand-held (telecomm-type) applications, where battery life is extremely important. FEDs takes more power to operate (no power, no light or information). Reflective LCDs use little power, and there are some types on the way that use no power once the information is on the screen. FED is more suited for applications where power is not such a strong factor (e.g., automobiles). - JimA

FED displays are expensive and will only have very narrow applications. TFS may get nailed, but not by Pixtech or FED, but rather by Philips LCDs
