I stand corrected. Still a minority position but significant.

Being fabless should be less expensive and more flexible than having fabs as long as the market has large amounts of excess capacity as it now does.

The ownership % makes this a small win for IDT but as far as
the relationship with QED I think it is over.QED announced...
serveral months ago....a mfg relationship with TSMC(taiwan semi)
also in one of IDT's 10Q's they warned of a problem with QED and
IDT as QED did most of the design work for IDT's MIPS parts.

SGI has licensed MIPS to 17 or so semi companies with QED doing
design work for SGI.I bet those QED guys are feeling mighty good.
