Penni -- <<I seem to remember McPhee's name from another thread>>

I recco'd his works on Feelies, or perhaps Quintex, outstanding stuff if you're into character studies or natural history. My favorite writer next to Joyce. And of course, you. <G>

BTW, taht 5:00 glass of Charred Donay you offered Dee - tell the truth, taht was really your 5:30 glass, now wasn't it?

Thanks, Penni ... <gratefully accepting another glass>

"Assembling CA" is the 4th in McPhee's series called, I think, the "Chronicle of the Former World." Geology and geologists. I've read some of his nature stuff, too, and I guess I'm interested in the subject. There are very few I'm not at least marginally interested in. John McPhee, by the way, is one of the people who used to write those wonderful, interminable articles in the pre-Tina Brown New Yorker, and a lot of his books were built from those articles.
