Thanks for your comments Linda. I do agree that his family seems to be important to him (at least that is what he talks about on interviews). Yet I cannot help but think that his sixteen hour days that he talks about would be reduced if he were to formally take over Apple and pass the baton at Pixar.

I end up feeling, like Phil, that he wants to take the job only if he's sure he can make a success of it, and that he's been waffling during this time till he could be sure Apple can make it.

Exactly. I too feel that he still sees some big hazards ahead, and in his mind it is unclear if Apple could overcome them.

Frankly, I'm not sure it can make it without him, so I surely do hope he will take the job.

I'm no fan of Jobs (see previous messages by yours truly), but I have to admit so far it seems that, clones and all, he's done a better Job than the previous three guys combined...

I believe he'll only take the job if he's sure he can succeed this time around.
