Sri, Thank you for many excellent posts. I was at the CIS clinic in Houma, La. last June. I was impressed with the latest equipment they had and the efficiency in moving from one test to another. Although I had stents from several yeas before CIS was one of the first to use them. I was fortunate in having the attention of both Dr. Walker who established CIS and Dr.Stagg. Because I have one illiac 100% blocked by use of a clamp at a Tucson hospital and a bypass clip at the other artery they entered my arm to open three places in the left common and femoral illiac. I was able to watch the whole procedure on the monitor and never felt the least bit uncomfortabe. Because the bypass clip is where a stent should be it was omitted on the hope I could get by without it. No such luck. A few months ago it felt as though some plaque had broken loose and lodged at the bypass again cutting oxygen to my leg. I had a 30% occlusion inside one of the stents but Probalbly will ge by at that point for the rest of my life. I would say the use of stent by a Dr. you know has the expertise is the way to go. In regards to an earlier posts, the number of operations by a particular group of Dr.s has a profound effect on the percent of successes. Dr.Walker feels that the size of a town should not prevent it from having the best care available. Keep up the exellent posts. J.J.
