Serry,

Speaking of NT, LU is no competition to them
when it comes to making switches. NT makes the
finist switches of them all. All of NYC and NJ
are NT switching equipment. LU still has a long
way to go when it comes to this.

Don't get me wrong, I love LU but ATT(LU) hasn't
mastered this yet like NT(Yes I work for them).

Agreed, no monopoly here. We have a captive audience still
in AT&T, but that's to be expected. But even they are not
buying 100% of their network equipment from us. Example: they
chose someone else for a big contract to provide additional T1
capacity on the long distance network since theirs is bursting
at the seams. Actually the breakup was good for us, we get to
sit back and watch the combatants wrestle with the courts in the
LEC/Long Distance arena, while we sell our networks to any and
all buyers. I think since divestiture we haven't had a monopoly
really -- that was the whole idea. Yes, this administration hates
the successful people of the world, but they far outnumber the
losers in politics, and I'm not worried for a second. My company
is going to kick big time and we've got the people to do it. Nothing
is going to stand in our way.
