"Adams discounted market reports that Compaq was encouraging retailers to order as much product as possible now in anticipation of a "dry period" between April and June, because of the Windows 98 launch. Acknowledging that retailers are encouraged to buy heavily and that a period of lighter availability is expected, she said both were related to normal Compaq business cycles."

First, it's a dry period between January and March. Now it's a dry period from April to June. What's going on here? Seems like this EL NINO is everywhere.
