<<as a cautionary note, the idea of doing rehab is not a bad one per se. As people have noted before, these clubs are busy primarily from 5-9 PM. In other locations, you will notice that elderly, etc. are the denizens of the morning. Adding rehab here makes sense, as they have the equipment necessary (or could be added at minimal expense), a fair amount of the facilities. Maybe they add a whirlpool...>>

At the 24hour Fitness gyms I don't see the handicapped access for wheeled persons. Gyms have no easy access even for a healthy guy like me, since more machines and salepersons'desks occupy than walkway or private rooms. I don't know, just my thought. I guess for rehab they need to remodel and expand the gyms and that requires a lot of money. Or most rehab people can walk several staircases or snake around machines easily just like me? How about patients w/ transmitted disease/AIDS? Do you want to go to the gym in the eve. if you know those patients sweat/bleed in the day? May be I exegarate but hey, any can happen?

>Just my thoughts (and I will be thinking about shorting nearer to earnings release time. BTW, how do the street estimates compare with thread thinking??? I can't imagine that they will warn early, but...<

David, thanks for your views on rehab. IMO you said it, it takes management skill, and what IMO may happen is that by moving their focus from their gym business into so many other risky ventures they may neglect the side of the business they should care the most about.

IMO your strategy for shorting is a good one. Wait probably until after earnings release time! IMO the company has lot's of flexibility in their accounting practices which could allow meeting estimates (read the fortune piece posted here)
