>>Komag is a direct competitor of APM. <<

Komag makes TFI platters, APM makes TFI heads..
RDRT is a direct competitor.

Brad; I'm sure as a group they will come back, thing is I cant
buy the whole group..who can I scratch, who will stay in the
doldrums.
I think I'm going to have to look at this from another angle..
Who owns who..who is in bed with who..like they say it's not
always what you know but who you know.
The best products do not always win in this system..
I don't have synopsis of the sector yet as to what I'm trying
to say..but that they will come back is for sure, as a sector
it's been hit worse tha Asia, still srveral of them might get
sent to the holding pen..or the dumpster.
--------------------
Breifly I remember the pilgram fund..almost every thing that
fund owned got took down systematicaly..others saw the weakness
and could force the fund to sell..find the worse preforming
mutual fund..that is in tech..avoid any of his holdings unless
some other fund that is strong holds them also. They feed on the
weak..the company don't mean a thing..stocks are looked at as
commodities some funds are not looking so much at P/Es and
stuff as they are for weakness in their competitors, they
compete..and some of them are ruthless, while others have
young managers that have no idea of what kind of snake pit
or Lions den they have walked into.
If you could just buy into the whole sector of DD it's got
the most upside..and most of them will make it, but if you
pick just one or two and they happen to be or become a target..
look out.
---------------------
There is a lot of paper out in this sector, they are not going
to let all that paper stay worth less..I tend to think it's going
to be who owns what, over management..P/E , or most of the
traditioal ways people look at these things. Management can be
replaced..the IOM CEO just got canned.
I don't see any bright future for IOM..but who knows if that will
be tied to the stock price for say the next six months..
I remember this sector got really trashed onec before, really
really trashed..so I'm not sure it won't go down more..but
even if it does it will come back , it could mean a long hold,
I can't tell for sure..but I don't belive I'd short it.
