>>>Also, maybe tgs can confirm what Tom suggested: BTC chose AGTI for its best (and I think he said only) fixed base system.<<<

There are 3 main fixed based units in the market - AGTI, Fortunet, and Gametech, along with a few minor players. I would think that market share and revenue is the best measure of which is "best", and that isn't AGTI/BTC. I think BTC needed a fixed base, and AGT had one.

Anyway, you asked tgs.

BTW - what else do you like? I briefly researched ABMI and liked what I saw.

To be a complete provider, both fixed units and handheld models are needed. The fixed units offer colorful graphics and greater capabilities. The handhelds offer portability, though generally provided a lower player spend than fixed units. AGTI had the complete package, but the product handheld problems hurt their reputation.

BTC only had handhelds and desperately needed a fixed base system. There are only four significant fixed unit manufacturers. FortuNet, is distributed by K & B (Texas) and not receptive to licensing their technology. System 12 (Bingo King) distributes through their existing distributor base along with the Power Bingo handhelds. GameTech, which has both fixed and handhelds and as the market leader had no need to do a deal with BTC and of course AGTI. AGTI needed assistance in the area of customer service, so there weren't to many other choices.

FYI: In the multi-site linked game category, there are at least two current competitors and another waiting in the wings. Multimedia Games (MGAM) has the Megamania and Flash Cash games, World Link has Rocket Bingo and GameTech has a new Fast Action Game.
