>>Charles, right! It's all about the minutes!>>

WRONG!! Minutes Sminutes! Think big gentleman, think "bulk".

ISP's were killed charging by the minute. Invoices were going out the door for 2-3 dollars. It cost them more than that to print and stuff the envelope. The cost of monitoring the minutes and the cost of the collections (staff) can quickly become more expensive than what you're trying to collect.

When this "cost per minute" war finally winds down, some idiot will be out there charging a penny a minute and billing for it. Someone makes a 1 hour call and the telco will have to invoice them, stuff the envelope and put a 32 cent stamp on a 60 cent invoice. Where is the profit?

All the ISP's are on a flat rate now. It's the only way they can compete. $20-25 a month and you can stay on until you rot away!

Perhaps there is a lesson here??
