zzz,

I hope that "rumor" you heard about Lu buying Frontier has some truth to it. Where did you get that info. There is no doubt that Frontier is a takeover target, but I doubt very much that Lu is going to buy a telephone company. Didn't Lu just get separated from a telephone company ?

Lucent probably would fit better with ASND,I know this is old stuff but they would fit nicely.

If you look at the InterOp floor plan for Atlanta 98 you see that LU has reserved the largest booth space in the show at 100X100. That's 3000 sq ft larger than spring InterOp. Sounds like they plan on being much bigger by then. They're right beside Cisco's 60X60 booth!

zzz-98,
I'm not 100% clear on this but I believe I read that when the
spin-off was done there was some sort of constraint put on LU
with regard to acquisitions. This constraint is to be lifted
soon, I think early summer. At that point I believe you will
see LU very active. I think some of the most logical candidates
are within the "alliances" LU has been forming. I think we'll
see a good number of small acquisitions ala CSCO, buying new
technologies. This coupled with the already incredible research
being done at Bell Labs will continue to make this company a
force well into the future.

Someone please help if I got this wrong.
