shane has asked:

So "from these depressed prices" do you expect a triple or at some
point a quintuple in 3 years. On the AOL board John Dessauer is
predicting earnings of $5-6 per share and a share price of $100. I am
a tad more conservative. Figure $65 should be easily possible and if
we get euphoria a $100 is not out of the question.

To me, it depends on which LSI steps up to the plate. The one
the street currently sees or the one that shane sees. The street is
currently looking at $1.12 year Dec '98 and $1.50 Dec '99 with a 20%
growth rate. So, looking from the street's point of view, let us say
that 3 years from now earnings are $2.00-$2.50. That would be good
enough to get us back to the old high on this chart (double from here)

Now shane has noted that LSI has "put many ducks out on the pond" and
some of these "chickens may come home to roost" (please excuse, I love
cliches). Now, should LSI in fact hit a homer in it's time at bat, I
think $4.00-$6.00 is possible and would give a target price in the
$100-150 range.

About volume: Note that on the LSI 5-year chart above, an unusual
thing happened. The meteoric rise of '93-'95 was accompanied by much
the same volume as we have had recently. The real heavy volume was
seen during the '95-'97 sell-off. Perhaps the 1% gains on low volume
over the last few days is exactly what we need. One percent a day
would compound nicely.<g>
