Well, Chaz the question should be what, if anything, is to be done? I don't see a lot of evidence that the founders , the famous venture capitalists( or should I say the legendary silicon valley keiretsu ?)have anything to contribute. It appears Andreessen is merely a young guy, not the second coming of Bill. NSCP has been real good at spending money the last two years. And Homer still is the number two guy. Steve Case is a genius by comparison. I will agree with you a direct confrontation with msft is horrific under present circumstances, but it is not mission impossible. The wrong people are in the top jobs at netscape. It's no wonder Bill and his troops always win. His competition is overwhelmingly managed by the wrong people. It wasn't too long ago apple was the top competitor to msft with (Dr.!) Gil Amelio in command. Talk about a mismatch.It is about the same now with msft and nscp. That is the bigger problem IMO.
